Diagnostic description:
A simple or branched annual, with erect or decumbent stems up to 30 cm long. Leaves oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, about 2 cm long, in whorls of 4 to 6. Leaves and stems rough hairy. Flowers bluish-violet, 5 to 6 mm across, usually in terminal clusters of 4 to 8 flowers.
Distribution:
Local: Very common and widespread throughout the Upper Rock and southern parts.
Global: Found throughout Europe.
Ecology:
Flowers from (February) March to April (June).
Habitat:
Grows in clearings and waysides.
