Teucrium lusitanicum Schreb.
Diagnostic description:
A small, densely tomentose, shrubby plant with many branches, to 40 cm tall. Stems and leaves covered with grey to yellowish woolly hairs. Leaves 5 to 35 mm long, oblong to linear-oblong, in whorled clusters, densely tomentose, especially underneath.. Margins crenate and slightly inrolled. Inflorescence generally branched, with flowers in dense, rounded, terminal heads. Corolla white, 5 to 10 mm long, felty on the outside. Nutlets 1.5 to 2.5 mm long.
Distribution:
Local: Common and widespread throughout the Upper Rock and some southern parts
Global: Found in the Mediterranean region and south Portugal.
Ecology:
Flowers between (April) May and June (July).
Habitat:
Grows in clearings and waysides; in garigue.
