Verbascum sinuatum L.
A much-branched, densely white or grey woolly-hairy biennial, to 1 m tall. Basal leaves forming a rosette; leaves with wavy margins, 15 to 30 cm long, narrowly elliptical, deeply lobed to pinnatifid, lobes with crenate margins. The upper leaves ovate, decurrent. Flowers yellow, from 1.5 to 2.5 cm across, forming a panicle of slender, spreading branches; flowers sessile, in clusters of 2 to 5 in the axils of small bracts. Stamens 5, with filaments densely covered with violet hairs.
Local:Not very common in Gibraltar. Found in scattered places, especially Rock Gun and areas below, North Front, Windmill Hill Flats, and southern parts of the Rock.
Global: Found throughout most of the Mediterranean region.
Flowers from (May) June, July to August (October).
Grows in rocky places, roadsides, waste ground, coastal areas, etc.
