Diagnostic description:
A much-branched, spreading, pubescent annual. Stems decumbent, 10 to 50 cm long. Leaves stalked, 1.5 to 2 cm long, broadly ovate to rounded, with 3 to 9 lobes, the middle lobe broader than the others. Flowers solitary, in the leaf axils; pedicels longer than the leaves. Corolla white, 4-lobed, 5 to 7 mm across, little larger than the 4-lobed calyx. Capsule hairy, 2-lobed, 2.5 to 3 mm long.
Distribution:
Local: Common and widespread throughout Gibraltar, including urban areas.
Global: Found throughout most of the Mediterranean region.
Ecology:
Flowers from (January) February, March, April, May to June.
Habitat:
Grows among rocks, on walls and along roadsides.
