Euphorbia baetica Boiss.
A hairless, somewhat glaucous, shrubby perennial which forms rounded clumps up to 40 cm tall. Leaves linear-lanceolate to narrowly oblong-elliptical, pointed, up to 2 cm long. Bracts oblong or ovate-lanceolate, pointed, up to 2 cm long; bracteoles oblong-elliptical or obovate, 1 to 2 cm long. Inflorescence with 5 primary rays, further divided into 2 rays up to 3 times. Floral glands yellow, kidney-shaped with short horns. Fruit capsules rounded, about 4 mm across, with 3 segments, smooth. Seeds oblong, yellowish-grey or pale brown; slightly pitted.
Local: Fairly common in Gibraltar. Found on the East Side sand slopes.
Global: Only found along south-western Iberian Peninsula.
Flowers between May, June, July and August
Grows on sandy soil along the littoral.
