Trifolium isthmocarpum Brot.
A hairless annual, with erect or decumbent stems from 10 to 50 cm long; branching from the base. Leaves trifoliate; petioles up to 10cm long. Leaflets obovate, finely toothed, 1 to 3 cm long. Stipules papery, long-pointed, fused at the base. Inflorescence axillary, spherical or ovoid, 12 to 25 mm across, many-flowered; peduncles longer than the leaves, up to 12 cm long. Flowers 7 to 12 mm long, pink, longer than the calyx. Pedicel shorter than the calyx tube. Calyx 10-veined; teeth more or less equal, shorter than the tube.
Local: Rare on the Rock. Introduced with imported soil in cultivated plots.
Global: Found in southern Europe and north-west Africa.
Flowers from February, March, April, May, June to July.
Grows in damp fields; along the littoral.
