Diplotaxis viminea (L.) DC.
Diagnostic description:
An erect, hairless or almost hairless annual. Stems from 5 to 25 cm tall, generally leafless, sometimes tinged violet. Leaves mostly basal, pinnately lobed to pinnatifid; with 2 to 3 pairs of side lobes and a larger terminal one. Flowers about 5 mm across, with 4 yellow petals, in many-flowered racemes. Siliqua flattered, 1 to 3 cm long and 1.5 to 2 mm wide, held out at an angle to the stem. Seeds about 1 mm long.
Distribution:
Local:Very rare in Gibraltar. Found on Windmill Hill Flats.
Global: Found in southern and western Europe, north Africa and south-west Asia.
Ecology:
Flowers from November, December, January, February, March, April, May, June to July.
Habitat:
Grows on open ground and fields.
