Kickxia spuria (L.) Dumort
A densely glandular hairy annual, with decumbent branching stems up to 60cm long. Leaves alternate, up to 4cm long, ovate to reniform, with rounded or cordate base, with entire margin. Petioles up to 6mm long. Flowers solitary, axillary, on hairy pedicels up to 2cm long, generally longer than the leaves. Calyx with ovate segments 3 to 5mm long. Corolla 8 to 12mm long, yellow with a dark purple upper lip. Spur curved, up to 4mm long. Capsule up to 4mm across
Local:Very common and widespread. Mainly found throughout the Upper Rock, along roadsides and footpaths. Grows on dry hills and fields, waysides.
Global:Found throughout the Mediterranean region and most of Europe.

Grows on disturbed and waste ground and in cultivated fields
