Diagnostic description:
Grows from a corm about 2 cm across which produces from 1 to 2 flowers. Leaves all basal, linear, narrow, dark green and with a paler central groove; start appearing during or just after flowering. Perianth segments 6, about 5 cm long, pale lilac to pink, often with darker veins.
Distribution:
Local: Rare in Gibraltar. Found on Windmill Hill Flats.
Global: Found in south-west Spain and north Africa.
Ecology:
Flowers during (October) November (December).
Habitat:
Grows on stony, open ground.
