Muscari parviflorum Desf.
A bulbous perennial with erect, solitary, hairless scapes 10 to 25 cm tall. Bulb brown, about 2 cm long. Leaves bright green, linear, channelled, shorter scapes, 2 to 3 mm wide. Flowers with perianth segements fused into an urn-shaped tube 3 to 5 mm long, with 6 tiny, spreading teeth at the mouth; pale sky blue and with darker blue-violet veins at the tips. Inflorescence a raceme of up to 12 flowers; pedicels 3 to 4 mm; sterile flowers few or absent, very small. Capsule ovoid, 3-angled, about 7 mm across. Seeds black, about 2 mm long.
Local: Very rare in Gibraltar. Found as a weed in the Alameda Gardens.
Global: Found throughout most of the Mediterranean region.
Flowers from October to November.
Grows in cultivated fields, and in deep soil patches in rocky habitats such as garigue and steppe.
