Succowia balearica (L.) Medik.
Diagnostic description:
A hairless annual, with long and flexuous stems up to 70 cm long. Leaves pinnatifid to bipinnatifid, between 5 and 15 cm long. Flowers with 4 petals, yellow, about 1 cm across, in a lax, many-flowered raceme. Silicula spherical, about 5 mm across, covered in spines, and with the style protruding up to 8 mm from it.
Distribution:
Local:Common in throughout Gibraltar, excluding urban areas.
Global: Only found in the western Mediterranean region.
Ecology:
Flowers between March, April, May and June.
Habitat:
Grows in clearings in the maquis, on stony ground and in limestone crevices; waste ground.
