Oxymitra incrassata (Broth.) Sergio & Sim-Sim
The thallus is between 5-10 mm long and 3-6 mm wide. Fleshy and oblong in shape. It is light green / grey in colour and has a median groove which tends to be narrow and deep. The thallus does not have dorsal reticulation. Scales are found on the ventral surface. They are relatively large, triangular in shape and hyaline to silvery in colour. They project beyond the margins of the thallus. The male receptacles are found at the bottom of the median groove. The female receptacles are found in mid thallus. Each female receptacle is covered by a fleshy conical involucre (cover of capsule). The capsule is “sunk” in the thallus and does not have elaters. The capsule wall dissolves and there is no mechanism for the dispersal of the spores.
