Diplotaxis siifolia Kunze
Diagnostic description:
An erect, branched annual. Stems from 10 to 70 cm tall, densely rough-hairy. Leaves covered with short, conical hairs on both surfaces; pinnatisect or bi-pinnatisect, with 4 - 6 pairs of unequal lobes, the terminal one much larger than the lateral ones. Flowers about 1 cm across, with 4 petals, yellow, in long, many-flowered racemes which elongate in fruit. Siliqua up to 4 cm long and 1 to 2 mm wide, held out at an angle to the stem. Seeds about 1 mm across.
Distribution:
Local: Common in Gibraltar. Found on North Front Cemetery and as a weed in Alameda Gardens.
Global: Found throughout the Iberian Peninsula and north Africa.
Ecology:
Flowers from (November) December, January, February, March to April (June).
