Conservation status:
Endemic to Gibraltar.
Diagnostic description:
A woody and much branched, strongly aromatic dwarf shrublet to 30 cm long, usually spreading and growing flat against rock surfaces; perennial; leaves dying back during Summer. Leaves to 1 cm long, densely hairy, lanceolate with inrolled margins. Flowers small, white to pale violet, in verticillasters, forming dense, rounded or elongated heads from 1.5 to 2 cm long.
Distribution:
Local: Common and widespread throughout the Upper Rock and some southern parts.
Ecology:
Flowers from April, May to June (July).
Habitat:
Grows from limestone crevices in clearings and along waysides.
